10th Biennial meeting of the Society for Research on Adolescence in Baltimore, USA, March 2004

The tenth Biennial Meeting of (SRA) Society for Research on Adolescents took place at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel, Maryland in March 11-14, 2004. It was a very big event with up to a thousand participants and numerous interesting sessions on a great variety of topics on adolescence research. The pre-conference events offered the chance to specific interest groups get together. Symposia sessions were very well organized, though they did not all get equal attention, some were packed of participants and in others only few attended. However, the many poster sessions gave an equal opportunity both to the presenters and the participants to enjoy personal discussions. Key memorable event was J. Eccles speech, president of SRA and the rich reception, which followed.
Many of us managed to go there: George, Peter and Elke, Therese, Susan, Wim (our webmaster) and it was a great surprise to meet there and to arrange some outings in the nice places around Baltimore Inner Harbor! Jordan and Kristin, our friends from SRA, joined in the meetings. Jordan on behalf of the students of SRA offered a warm welcome and all of us met for a toast for his birthday. Other social events like students’ reception and international reception gave us the opportunity for informal meeting and discussions. The experience was great and we felt that students from Europe should have some funding to be able to attend SRA conferences.
